At Christmas we had a silver tree that had a rotating color wheel in front of a spot light. This was the cat’s-meow of trees in that day. The only problem though was that the rotating wheel would always come unscrewed and flop onto the hot bulb and melt. We pealed more plastic off of bulbs than I can remember. I don’t know how it continuously got repaired, but the screw never did get tight enough to overcome its issues. I can only wonder what folks would say if we came home with a silver metal Christmas tree these days.
