Abt 1969 Portable phones

I still remember my first phone number St 22648. I was always fiddling with phones and electricity in our home. I thought it would be great to have a portable phone to walk from room to room without having to hang up. I set up a long wire on the handset (about 150 ft) and would walk down the stairs from my bedroom out the front door to the mailbox and get the mail. Any drive byes must of thought I was nuts, no one had a phone that would do that.
